Circulation Service

  • UNIMEL library provides Circulation Counter that is responsible for delivering borrowing and returning services of library materials.
  • The circulation process is run via computerized method by using library management system, which is V-Lib Professional Library Management System.
  • For users who intend to borrow library materials need to go to Circulation Counter to enable staff on duty to process borrowing and returning of library materials.
  • The circulation service is open to all committee of UNIMEL.

 

Information Service

  • Information service provided in the UNIMEL library is in charge of assisting users who require information pertaining to collections and services in the library.
  • The library provides information service as a platform for answering users’ requests and queries regarding the library.
  • Information Service Counter is also provided to facilitate delivery of information to the users pertaining to the library.
  • The users can seek advice and reference service from the staff on duty relating to existing reading materials and services in the library.
  • This information service is open to all committee of UNIMEL and also library visitors.

 

Information Literacy Class

  • Information Literacy Class is a form of service provided in the UNIMEL library, in which the users are given direct exposure and guidance regarding information searching methods in the UNIMEL library.
  • The purpose of the library providing Information Literacy Class is to build and sharpening users’ skills, especially students in accessing information source efficiently.
  • This service alms to educate users through self-learning method to be more Independent in the process of searching and accessing printed and electronic reference materials, whether in the library or via online.
  • Information Literacy Class is conducted on a scheduled basis as well as according to UNIMEL lecturers and students’ requests.
  • The Information Literacy Class service is open to the UNIMEL committee, which are UNIMEL students and lecturers only.

 

Web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog)- Book Search System

  • UNIMEL library provides Web OPAC service (Online Public Access Catalog), in which users can access Web OPAC at each level of the library to make search of reading materials in the library.
  • Web OPAC is a web based online catalog that has been implemented in the library for making search of reading collections available in the library.
  • Through the use of Web OPAC, users can perform searching of reading materials, whether by title, subject, publisher, keyword, reading material’s Item ID, ISBN number (International Standard Book Number), call nombor, or author.
  • The search result will display bibliographical information details of the required reading materials needed by the users to obtain the loan status as well as location of reading materials in the library.

 

Inter Library Loan

  • ServiceUNIMEL library provides inter library loan service for users who need to borrow reading materials from other libraries.
  • This service is provided especially for obtaining reading materials that are not available in the UNIMEL library.
  • The UNIMEL library is responsible for assisting users who want to borrow reading materials from the other libraries if the reading materials are not available in the UNIMEL library’s collections.
  • Inter library loan service is the library’s initiative for fulfilling library users’ requirements in getting access to information and reading materials.
  • This service is open for UNIMEL committee and UNIMEL library’s external members
